Founder Larry Stark
“Larry Stark, who has been dubbed the “Dean of alternative theater critics” by his fans, began reviewing theater for the alternative weekly, Boston After Dark, in 1966 and has continued ever since. In October 1994, he launched Theater Mirror, which was one of the country’s first online review websites. Larry reviews less frequently than he has in the past, but still attends a great number of performances each year. Larry was also one of the founders of the Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE), which for over 20 years has annually recognized actors, directors, choreographers, design disciplines, and theater companies for excellence in their craft with the presentation of IRNE Awards.”

Mike Hoban is a journalist who began reviewing theater with Events Insider in 2011. He is a former actor and sketch comedy writer/performer who retired just after the turn of the century after appearing in a number of fringe productions. Mike is a member of the Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE).
